Programme

The market has more events and things to do than ever before. Visitors can sing their hearts out in the Christmas karaoke, enjoy some bossa nova with a Christmas touch, marvel at circus performances and play bingo with a chance to win a vegan Christmas ham. Dogs and kids have their own special programme. As before, the opening day is celebrated with beloved Christmas carols.

The Helsinki Christmas Market cabins on the Aleksanterinkatu side of the square have events throughout the market weeks. The two food courts offer laid-back, experimental events on Wednesdays, more traditional programme on Saturdays and musical treats on Sundays. The food courts have live fires to warm visitors’ spirits even more

The title of Europe’s most interesting Christmas market is certainly within Helsinki’s grasp – musical offerings at the Helsinki Christmas Market include carols in both bossa nova versions and performed by a choir. A four-hour Christmas karaoke by Singa invites everyone for a public sing-along in the open air.

During the week before Christmas the market is the best place to buy everything needed for the holidays from fish to jams, mustards, pickled mushrooms and more. The popular vegan YouTube channel PS Olen vegaani hosts a fun Veggie Ham Bingo where the grand prizes are seitan hams by Vegem.
