16. Juniart

Introduction

I am textile artist Julia Martiskainen, a member of ORNAMO, and Juniart is my own brand. I design and create all my products by hand: embroidered bags, phone pouches, makeup bags, and pencil cases. My main technique is rekipeittokirjonta, a traditional Finnish embroidery on wool fabric. I also make soft toys for children, handwoven wool scarves, postcards, and jewellery. Each item is unique and handcrafted with care. My works are also available online, at fairs, and in handicraft boutiques in Old Porvoo and Joensuu.
