15. Juniart

Introduction

I am textile artist Julia Martiskainen, a member of Ornamo, and Juniart is my company. I design and craft all my products myself: hand-embroidered bags, phone pouches, and makeup bags. My main technique is carriage blanket embroidery (rekipeittokirjonta), a traditional form of embroidery on wool fabric. I also make soft toys for children, hand-woven wool scarves, postcards, and jewelry. My products are unique, and I sell them online, at fairs, and in handicraft boutiques in Old Porvoo and Joensuu. I also have many customers in Helsinki who were delighted to see my products at the Helsinki Christmas Market previously. I hope to meet both old and new customers at the Helsinki Christmas Market again this year.
